Empowering The Forces Of Darkness

The tongue is a small member that can start major fires. Many times one person will open their mouth and cast forth slanderous statements about another. Many times those words fall into the ears of others who pour out gasoline on the fire. Before you know it, everyone's having a bon fire. Gossip and slander are not Kingdom seeds. They are seeds of the flesh, the carnal mind and they empower the forces of darkness.

Remedy: Repentance ....

Will You Turn Towards God Or Turn Away From Him?

Psalm 10:1 - Why, O LORD, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

This question can be turned around. God puts the question to us, “Why, in your times of trouble, do you stand far off?”

In this Psalm, God is inviting us to think about the kind of people we are becoming. Are we turning away from God? Or Are we turning towards Him?

It’s either one or the other – turning towards God or turning away from Him.

Maintaining Our Faithful Testimony (Revelation 16:1-17:8).

We live in an unbelieving and rebellious world - ‘they refused to repent and glorify Him’. In an increasingly hostile environment, we must seek to maintain our faithful ’testimony’. There are many who take delight in sin. They rebel against God. They take pleasure in persecuting the people of God: ‘They will make war against the Lamb’. What are we to do when we face such determined opposition? - We must remind our enemies that they will be defeated by Christ: ‘the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings’. We must remind them that Christ has given us the victory: ‘with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers’. ‘We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Nothing will be able to separate us from’ His love (16:9,11; 17:5-6,14; Romans 8:37-39).

Cash For Clunkers

I'm sure that you've heard about the cash for clunkers program. What a great idea. The government should extend it. It helps our citizens get rid of junk and older cars. It helps the economy. It helps the environment and it also helps make our highways and roads safer.

It also cuts down on fuel consumption, auto repairs, insurance costs and all sorts of other things for the everyday citizen. Heck, billions were pumped into failing banks and corporations. This just seems to be the right thing to do.

They should have done something like this with the housing market like let the homeowners borrow the money at a very low rate, pay the bank note off and keep their homes. That way the banks would prosper and so would the homeowners. Just imagine it ....

God Has Heard And Answered Our Prayer For Salvation. Let Us Pray For Others ... That They Will Receive His Salvation.

We have come to God as sinners. He has heard and answered our prayer for salvation. Let us pray for others that they will bring their sin to the Saviour and will receive His salvation. When we pray for others, let us be bold in our prayers. The Good News of grace reaches beyond those whom the world may describe as ” a righteous man” “a good man” (Romans 5:7). We look at the Cross of Christ, and we remember this: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6) – This is the Gospel of our salvation. As we rejoice in God’s salvation, let us make this our earnest prayer: “O that the world might taste and see the riches of His grace! The arms of love that compass me would all mankind embrace.” Having received God’s salvation, let us commit ourselves to sharing the Good News of His love: “’tis all my business here below to cry: ‘Behold the Lamb.’”
