The Blessings Of Knowing God

Knowing God

Born in the south of France, the eldest of a family of five children, my origins are French and Moroccan. From the age of thirteen, my favourite hobby was writing French poems and songs. I initially pursued a degree in business administration, but a few years later developed a strong desire to sing. Unfortunately, circumstances didn't allow me to pursue this promising career.

In 1995, I came to the United Kingdom to improve my English. Struggling to make a living while in the UK, my life turned around when I believed and was baptized into Christ Jesus, confessing Him as my Lord and Saviour.

I saw the power of God at work in my life. It was this experience that motivated me to write this first book "Knowing God", which I believe will help those who are seeking God to get a better understanding of the riches of the Kingdom of God.

Trusting In Jesus

Randolph Nicholas Alvis
Splinters On The Carpenter's Floor

Our God is continually shaping us to conform to the image of his Son. Splinter's On The Carpenter's Floor evolved from many nights in prayer to God to remove me out of a deep depression.

Jesus was a carpenter by trade, but the splinter's he created are those that fall from men's hearts. He's using a plane on our emotions, filing down our pride, and putting a fine stain of his blood of Calvary on each of his works.

Ask Jesus into your life and he will carve your life into something very beautiful. The sign in his carpentry shop window says 'Always open, quality work from a master craftsman' Praise His Holy Name!

All Things Are Possible

A book of encouragement for women who come to know the Lord in their marriage first… This book will discuss the ups and downs of being married to someone who doesn’t share your passion for Jesus. Living in peace with God and your spouse is essential to keeping your joy intact and your hope alive. This short book is an “easy read”, but has much to say! You will want to read it over and over again! Mission Possible

Shroud of Turin, The Mystery

Just read a news report that shares that a Italian scientist has reproduced the Shround of Turin and says that it proves definitively that the linen Christians revere as Jesus Christ's burial cloth is a medieval fake.

Personally, I never put much thought into the Shroud of Turin, however I would like for the scientist to explain something to me. Where did all the space come from that the solar systems and universe is within. Even if you apply the big bang theory. Where did the very space for the big bang come from. In other words, how can something come from nothing?

In Christ, We Have The Victory.

Psalm 9:1-20
‘I will give thanks to the Lord...’(1-2). The enemy is defeated (3-6). ‘The Lord sits enthroned for ever’ (7). ‘The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble’ (9). What an encouraging Psalm this is: We have the victory in Christ. Nevertheless, it is not easy when we face determined opposition from the enemies of Christ and His Gospel: ‘Behold what I suffer from those that hate me’ (13). In this situation, we must call upon the Lord: ‘Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail’ (19). Though the conflict is raging all around, we must - taking our stand in Christ - declare God’s praises and rejoice in His salvation (14). ‘The Lord dwells in
Zion’ (11): ‘Blest inhabitants of Zion, Washed in the Redeemer’s blood’, may we always say, ‘Let the world deride or pity, I will glory in Thy Name’ (Church Hymnary, 421).

Jesus Christ Is God's Answer To The Sinner's Prayer.

Psalm 4:1-8
There is a great message of the Gospel here.
By ourselves, we are sinners, turning God’s glory to shame, loving delusions and seeking false gods (2).
By grace, God has done something about this - ‘the Lord has set apart the godly for Himself’ (3).
When we pray, ‘Answer me’ (1), we have this confidence: ‘the Lord will hear when I call to Him’ (3). The Lord hears the sinner’s prayer, ‘Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer’ (1).
Jesus Christ is God’s Answer to this prayer. Christ brings relief (salvation). This salvation arises from the mercy of God. In Christ, we have a ‘joy’ and ‘peace’ which the world can neither give nor take away (7-8).
When the seeking sinner comes with question, ‘Who can show us any good?’ (6), the Gospel Answer is always the same - Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Let Jesus Christ Be The Love Of Your Life.

Psalm 2:1-12
In this Psalm, we read of a conflict. On the one side, there is ‘the Lord and His Anointed’ (2). On the other there are those who ‘conspire and ...plot’ (1).
The conspiracies and plots of men will come to nothing. The saving purpose of God will be fulfilled.
This purpose will be accomplished in Christ, the One to whom God says, ‘You are My Son’ (7), the One to whom God says, ‘I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession’ (8).
God calls us to worship Christ - ‘Kiss the Son’ (12).
This call to worship Christ is accompanied by a warning against judgment and a promise of salvation.
As sinners, we are under God’s judgment. Trusting in Christ, we are saved (12; John 3:36
).
We are to take delight in Christ. This is the thought conveyed by the phrase, ‘Kiss the Son’.
We delight in God’s Son, and we delight in God’s Word which leads us to Him.

Be Careful How You Live - Because You Love Jesus!

Ephesians 5:15-6:24
'Be very careful how you live' (5:16).
This is for all of us - in every situation of life.
How are we to live?
* We are to ‘be filled with the Spirit’.
* We are to have ‘reverence for Christ’.
* We are to live ‘as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.’
* We are to ‘be strong in the Lord’. We are to ‘pray at all times in the Spirit’.
* We are to ‘to love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying’ (5:18, 21;6:6, 10, 18, 24).
Careful living emerges from true spirituality. It is not a matter of rules and regulations. It is a matter of love for Jesus.
We’re not to be like the Pharisees: ‘On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy’, ‘These people honour Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me’ (Matthew 23:28; Mark 7:6).
Take care - because you love Jesus!

New Life In Christ

Colossians 2:8-3:17

Be what you already are. Be what God has made you in Christ. This is what God is saying to us here. ‘You have been raised with Christ... You died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God’ (1,3).

Paul is describing the new birth. Christ has made His home in us. New life has begun.

Now that Christ lives in us - what are we to do about it? How are we to live? - ‘Set your hearts and minds on things above’ (1-2). This is how we are to live. We are to live out the life which God has put into our hearts.

The new life begins when Christ comes to live in us. It does not end there. That is only the beginning. We are to go on, ‘being renewed in knowledge after the image of our Creator’ (3:10).

Christ wants to reign in us. He wants to enrich our lives (3:15-16).

In Him, there is so much blessing. Let’s enjoy it!

Keep Christ At The Centre

Colossians 1:1-2:7

‘In everything’ Christ is ‘pre-eminent’ (18).

* In Him, there is salvation - ‘redemption, the forgiveness of sins’ (14) - , sanctification - ‘mature in Christ’ (28) - and service - making Him known (27).

Everything is in Christ.

* In Him are ‘all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge’ (2:3) - all that we need for salvation, sanctification and service.

We must go on with Him - ‘Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him’ (2:6).

How are we to live in Him? - ‘rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness’ (2:7).

Remember all that the Lord has done for you. Give thanks to Him. He has loved you so much. He has done so much for you. Let gratitude be your attitude. Filled with His strength, we will go from strength to strength.

The Masters Touch

Mat 20:30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, [thou] Son of David.

Mat 20:31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, [thou] Son of David.

Mat 20:32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?

Mat 20:33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

Mat 20:34 So Jesus had compassion [on them], and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Blessings in the Masters Touch

Even Eternal Life

1Jo 2:1 ¶ My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
1Jo 2:3 ¶ And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jo 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1Jo 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
1Jo 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
1Jo 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
1Jo 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
1Jo 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
1Jo 2:12 ¶ I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
1Jo 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
1Jo 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1Jo 2:15 ¶ Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jo 2:16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1Jo 2:18 ¶ Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would [no doubt] have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
1Jo 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
1Jo 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].
1Jo 2:24 ¶ Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
1Jo 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, [even] eternal life.
1Jo 2:26 These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
1Jo 2:28 ¶ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
1Jo 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
